Quilt Blocks Eight Pointed Star Set of 24 Red White Polka Dots Cotton Vintage

Here is a set of 24 quilt blocks in the Eight Pointed Star pattern,
#3735a in the Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns by Barbara Brackman.  It is categorized as an Eight Pointed / 45 Degree Diamond Star.   It was so named by the Ladies' Art Company, design #261.
Blocks are hand pieced and each measures approximately 5 1/2" square.  The fabrics are vintage cottons with the stars being a combination of red and white fabrics with setting pieces in white with black polka dots.  Please note, fabric for setting squares and triangles have different sizes of polka dots.   These are mostly clean, but there is some brown soiling present especially on the dots fabric.  Seam allowances vary with some not being wide enough to
accommodate
the star points when the blocks are set.
One star is missing a small chunk of fabric as shown in the last photo.

When working with vintage fabric, blocks, tops or quilts, prior quilting and piecing experience is helpful. Pieces were not rotary cut and cutting templates and patterns may not have been square. Pieced items may not be flat. Vintage items may have a musty or storage odor.
