**From someone that has just very recently traveled by plane (I'm seeing a lot of people going back n forth w each other on social media and the reason I think for all of the confusion and misconceptions is that the airlines have just very recently started being so much more restrictive) They are charging a lot more for checked bags bc they are trying to get back some of the money they lost during lockdowns. They are basically pulling what they used to before, just much more frequently lately.. Telling people they either have to pay extra to bring their bag on the plane or they say you can have a sm carry on, but they make the size/weight limit for it ridiculously unreasonable then when you try to get on the plane, they tell you your bag is too big and at that point you end up having to pay to check your bag, whatever that costs PLUS an additional fee for the supposed huge inconvenience you caused by them having to check your bag for you now and that fee ,on top of the -$God knows what to check your bag + the fee which is usually between -0.... So, just a friendly suggestion.. know what the rules and guidelines for wherever you're traveling to and for the airline(s) you'll be flying with. Last little tid bit of info for ya.. stay far away from Southwest! They are the absolute worst when it comes to this and several other things that make them.. Not on the top of everyones favorite airlines list! Lol Safe travels!
