Thunderbay 4 RAID with 12 TB

Description

This is a 4 bay RAID by OWC configured in the RAID 5 setting. It's formatted for HFS+ (Macintosh) but can be reformatted for Windows if desired. Recommend not using ExFat as it's much more processor intensive and does slow down the drives performance quite a bit. Though OWC does flaunt the hot swappable option, it isn't ideal for those who want speed, power and performance at the maximum potential, especially on the Thunderbolt 2 interface. With the RAID 5 configuration, three drives are striped together with the forth being used as a "floater" to replace any of the three drives that may show a potential to fail or malfunction. As a result, the total space usable will be 9 TB with the last 3TB used as a backup drive. Recommend this drive bay be cleaned every 6-8 months as dust does tend to build up in these things quite a bit. Comes with a TB2 cable, RAID Case keys (2) and power cable.
