Vintage 1950s Round Suitcase – American Tourister - Grey Tweed

This early 1950s American Tourister suitcase model was included in the 1952 Christmas edition of Collier's magazine. Tourister “Hi Taper” model. They were correct in their ad; “you can add matching pieces any time, any year.” And it’s 70 years later! Piece is grey tweed, beige stitching, and re-enforced edging. Early American Tourister metal plate on front; and etched into latches. Size: 15” x 15.5” across top. Side tapered to hug the hip: back height 6.75”; front height 5.5”. Rose satin interior with large top pocket; and small, back interior pocket. Original ribbon ties. No tears or damage. Minor signs of aging and use. Aged brass patina on latches (can be polished). Bottom three metal feet have slight wear which can be buffed. No key. Note: advertising not included. Shipped priority mail package
