  • Condition: The only serious flaw is that the red fabric used for the large squares has discolored, lightly, in some areas: we counted 5 of those large solid (not patchwork) blocks that show discoloration, as example on pic # 8. There is browning and generalized spotting in the off-white, or rather "creamy", cotton in the blocks, visible in several of the pics posted. This spotting is expected in very old fabrics like this "creamy" one, so we hope it is not a very important flaw: please check pics # 9, 10 and 11 for examples of these spots and browning. No rips or busted seams, no issues with the beautiful borders, no odors.

    Description

Please notice this is just a quilt TOP: it is NOT a finished quilt, as there is no batting or backing underneath the pieced fabrics seen in the photos.
It measures 93" by 73" across; the bed is a queen, 80" by 60".
The fabrics are very old; the piecing of the blocks was done by hand; the setting of the blocks to the solid squares was done by machine (see pic # 12).
The pattern is known as Navajo, but please notice the blocks are sideways, the pattern is better seen when looking at the quilt top fro the sides of the bed, as on pic # 5.
